Are you a qualified teacher passionate about supporting young people who thrive best outside of mainstream education?
Do you believe in second chances, personalised learning, and education that meets students where they are?
We’re working with an Alternative Provision and Outreach Service covering Richmond and Kingston, supporting children and young people who are currently unable to attend school. These learners often face barriers such as social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, anxiety, or challenging life experiences.
This service is looking for a dedicated Outreach Teacher (QTS) who can deliver engaging and creative learning in 1:1 or small-group settings — either in the community, at home, or within outreach centres — helping students re-engage with education and rebuild confidence.
The Role
-
Plan and deliver personalised lessons in core subjects (particularly English and Maths)
-
Teach in community-based or home settings across Richmond and Kingston
-
Support students with a range of SEND and SEMH needs
-
Build positive, trusting relationships that promote engagement and progress
-
Work collaboratively with SENCOs, mentors, and families to provide consistent support
-
Track progress and contribute to individual learning plans
The Ideal Candidate
-
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – primary or secondary teachers welcome
-
Experience supporting learners with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural needs
-
Calm, patient, and adaptable teaching style
-
Confident working independently and managing your own timetable
-
Passionate about inclusion, wellbeing, and holistic education
Why Join?
-
Rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of vulnerable learners
-
Supportive, forward-thinking team that values creativity and compassion
-
Ongoing professional development, including trauma-informed and therapeutic training
-
Competitive pay and flexible structure to support work-life balance
If you’re a compassionate and resilient Outreach Teacher who believes every child deserves access to quality education — wherever they learn best — we’d love to hear from you.
