Engaging One-to-One SEN Tutor for Year 7 Boy in Battersea required ASAP
Are you a passionate and dedicated educator with experience supporting children with special educational needs? We are seeking a nurturing and creative individual to provide one-to-one tuition for a Year 7 boy in the borough of Wandsworth, London. This role will be ideal for passionate educators looking for short hours to fit around family life, school drop offs etc!
About the Student:
This bright and engaging young man has an autism and ADHD diagnosis and thrives in a positive and supportive learning environment. He loves Lego, sensory activities, cooking and computer games. While he can be anxious at times, he responds well to patience and encouragement.
About the Role of One-to-One SEN Tutor:
- You will provide tailored educational activities for 2.5 hours a day, four days a week. There is flexibility on the specific days and times, which can be discussed with the child's mother.
- Sessions will initially take place in the student's home, located in Battersea. There may be opportunities to take the student out to the library or a coffee shop once a relationship is built.
- You will receive a competitive hourly rate of £25, paid for a total of 4 hours per day to include planning and travel time. The Tutoring time is 2.5 hours per day.
- This position is for the full academic year, with the potential for extension. We are looking for someone who can provide consistency and build a long-term relationship with the student. Commitment to this role is paramount.
Responsibilities of One-to-One SEN Tutor:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the student's interests and learning style.
- Create a calm and structured environment that minimises anxiety.
- Be flexible, patient, and adaptable to the student's varying levels of engagement.
- Work collaboratively with the student's mother and the provision's lead teacher.
- Maintain accurate records and provide daily reports on the student's progress.
One-to-One SEN Tutor Ideal Candidate :
- Experience working with children with autism and ADHD.
- Patient, understanding, and able to build rapport with neurodiverse children.
- Resourceful and able to work independently, using initiative to create engaging activities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Committed to providing reliable and consistent support.
