We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist Post-16 SEND provision in Havering for a dedicated Support Assistant to join their team in a part-time role supporting young people aged 16-19 with additional needs.
This is an opportunity to play a meaningful part in preparing young adults for their next steps, whether that's further education, employment, independent living, or community participation.
The Role
Working alongside teachers, therapists, and specialist support staff, you will help learners access education and develop the practical, social, and communication skills they need for adulthood.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting learners within classroom and vocational activities
- Providing one-to-one and small group support
- Assisting with life skills and independence programmes
- Encouraging social interaction and positive engagement
- Supporting learners during break and transition periods
- Helping young people develop confidence, resilience, and self-advocacy skills
- Promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Previous SEND experience is beneficial but not essential. Full training and ongoing support will be provided for the right candidate.
