Pastoral Manager
Southwark - Full-time, Long-term (Potentially permanent)
Starting September 2026 - 36 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

We are looking for a dedicated Pastoral Manager to join our supportive team. Working with a designated year groups, you will provide high-quality pastoral care, promote positive behaviour, improve attendance, and support students' wellbeing, enabling them to achieve their full academic and personal potential. You will be reporting to the Senior Pastoral Manager, working together and with Year Leaders for overall care and education of young people.
Key Responsibilities

Support a designated year group alongside the Year Leader and Senior Leadership Team.

Act as the second point of contact, after Form Tutors, for students and parents.

Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing, attendance and punctuality.

Provide pastoral support for students with SEND, SEMH, Autism and complex needs.

Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions to remove barriers to learning.

Build positive relationships with students, families and external agencies.

Implement restorative and trauma-informed behaviour strategies.

Support school behaviour systems, including supervising consequences (detentions).

Work closely with teaching, SEND and safeguarding teams to ensure students receive the support they need.

Contribute to mentoring, reward programmes and year group activities.

Maintain accurate pastoral records and contribute to safeguarding procedures.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:

Experience working with children or young people with SEND, SEMH or behavioural needs.

A calm, compassionate and resilient approach.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

A good understanding of safeguarding and Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).

Experience working collaboratively with families, colleagues and external professionals.

A genuine commitment to inclusive education and high expectations for every student.
