Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15am – 3:45pm
Are you passionate about supporting young people with SEND needs.
We are recruiting for a Pastoral Assistant within a dedicated SEND department, working with students aged 11–19. This role is ideal for candidates interested in careers in education, mental health, social work, or clinical psychology.
The Role:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEND and additional needs
- Act as a key worker, supporting students’ academic progress and emotional wellbeing
- Support positive behaviour management and engagement in learning
- Assist with reintegration after suspension and pastoral interventions
- Work closely with the SENDCo, pastoral team, and teaching staff
- Deliver targeted interventions (literacy, numeracy, and life skills)
- Support students in lessons and alternative learning environments
- Encourage independence, confidence, and social development
- Supervise students during break/lunch and school activities
Requirements:
- Experience working with SEND, SEMH, and experience supporting the curriculum
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- Calm, resilient, and proactive approach
- Ability to build positive relationships with young people
- Team player with a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable students
