An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Science Teacher to join a therapeutic social emotional mental health school, leading on KS2, 3, 4 and A-Level Science. This school believes every student should have access to education whether that is in a school, online or outreach setting, they have zero permanent exclusions and are passionate about transforming lives of students whose needs couldn't be met in mainstream.
The role will be delivering the science curriculum across KS2 - A-Level, designing and delivering a creative and tailored approach to each child's EHCPs and incorporating a lot of practical learning to promote engagement, you will be teaching a small group of students at a time.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering engaging and accessible lessons tailored to individual needs
- Tracking and reviewing progress against individual learning and EHCP targets
- Contributing to statutory review meetings and written reports
- Building positive, professional relationships with parents and carers
- Support pupils emotional regulation and pastoral wellbeing.
Person Specification:
- Qualified teacher status
- Proven experience teaching Science
- A background in SEND education is essential
- Experience supporting pupils with visual impairment is advantageous
- A flexible, patient, and inclusive teaching approach
