Pay: £90–£100 per day (PAYE)
Contract: Full-time | Term-time only | Long-term role

"Every child has a voice — it’s up to us to hear it."

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist school supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD). This is a fantastic long-term opportunity for someone with at least 1 year’s SEN experience and a Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification who is ready to make a meaningful difference.

About the School

Our partner schools provide education for pupils with a wide range of complex needs — including sensory, medical, and physical disabilities. Many learners are non-verbal, use wheelchairs, and require high levels of individualised care. Classrooms can vary from calm, sensory-focused settings to more dynamic and physically demanding environments — but always with the shared aim of promoting dignity, growth, and development for every child.

Your Role Will Include

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support tailored to EHCPs and learning plans

  • Facilitating sensory, therapeutic, and play-based learning sessions

  • Using communication aids such as PECS, visual timetables, and assistive technology

  • Supporting with personal care (toileting, feeding, hoisting — full training provided)

  • Building a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where pupils can thrive

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience with children or young people with SEND

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification

  • Confidence in working with pupils with PMLD, complex needs, or physical disabilities

  • A calm, empathetic, and resilient attitude — especially during challenging moments

  • A strong team player with initiative and commitment to inclusive education

What You’ll Gain

  • A rewarding role in a supportive specialist setting

  • The chance to broaden your skills in PMLD and complex needs

  • Continuous training and professional development opportunities

  • A collaborative team that values and supports you

Why Work With Parker Smith Inclusion?

  • Specialists in SEND recruitment with a people-first approach

  • PAYE only — no umbrella companies or hidden deductions

  • Long-term placements with dedicated consultant support

  • Transparent and ethical recruitment focused on your wellbeing
