Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday 08:30-16:00/16:30

Pay Scale: MPS/UPS Outer London

Contract: Long-term to permanent

A community-base special school in the London borough of Waltham Forest are seeking a dedicated Teacher to join their exceptional team and support Key Stage 1 and 2 students with profound complex needs. This collaborative school embraces individual journeys and creates a tailored curriculum to maximise each student's progress, setting them up for successful milestones. 

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering engaging, highly personalised learning experiences that meet the complex needs of pupils with PMLD. Working alongside a skilled multidisciplinary team, you will create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where communication, independence, and wellbeing are at the heart of learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver creative, sensory-based lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Develop and implement EHCP outcomes and personalised learning programmes.
  • Work collaboratively with therapists, support staff, and families to ensure a holistic approach to pupil development.
  • Use a range of communication strategies, including AAC and sensory approaches, to support engagement and progression.
  • Monitor, assess, and celebrate pupil achievements and progress.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEND, particularly PMLD, SLD, or complex learning needs.
  • A nurturing, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and raising outcomes for vulnerable learners.
