Parker Smith Inclusion is working with a specialist SEND school in Harrow seeking a PMLD Teacher to join its team. This is an opportunity to work with pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties, delivering personalised learning that supports communication, independence and individual progress.

You’ll have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with pupils, celebrate small but significant achievements and help create a learning environment where every child is supported to reach their potential.

About the Role

You’ll lead your own class, planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that reflect each pupil’s individual needs, abilities and communication style.

Working alongside Teaching Assistants, therapists and other professionals, you’ll create a structured, nurturing environment where pupils can develop essential skills, engage with learning and work towards their individual outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Planning and delivering personalised lessons for pupils with PMLD and complex learning needs.

• Adapting activities, resources and communication approaches to suit individual abilities.

• Supporting communication, sensory engagement and functional life skills.

• Promoting independence, participation and preparation for adulthood.

• Working closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists and families to maintain consistent support.

• Monitoring progress and recognising achievements, however small.

• Contributing to individual learning plans and wider pupil development.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re keen to hear from teachers who are passionate about SEND and committed to helping pupils with complex needs make meaningful progress.

You’ll ideally have:

• QTS or an appropriate teaching qualification.

• Experience working with pupils with SEND, PMLD or complex learning needs, although this is not essential for every candidate.

• The ability to adapt teaching to different learning styles, communication methods and levels of ability.

• A patient, flexible and nurturing approach.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• A genuine commitment to inclusive education and individual achievement.
