I am working with a Special School based in the London Borough Hackney who are looking for committed, friendly, approachable people who are willing to learn new ways of working with children with Special Needs.
The School: This primary School with a PMLD ARP focuses on supporting children from the age 4 - 11 with Severe Learning Difficulties, Moderate Learning Difficulties, PMLD, physical disabilities and medical needs. The Schools focus is for the students and staff to feel fulfilment, belonging and independence.
Working as a PMLD Teaching Assistant:
- Excellent training and progression pathways fully supported by the ambitious SLT.
- Working closely with experienced professionals; SEN Teachers, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists.
- A truly creative and engaging environment.
- Deliver pastoral and learning support.
- Provide feedback to pupils in relation to their progress and achievement.
- Personal care (feeding/changing) where required and assist with sensory and medical needs.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience working within a Special School
- Experience working with medical, physical disabilities
- Experience working with children with SEND
- Classroom experience
- Pro-active, friendly and empathetic nature
