Location: Specialist Post-16 Provision, Havering
Pay: £90–£100 per day (PAYE)
Contract: Long-term | Temp-to-Permanent

A Purpose-Driven Post-16 Setting

This specialist Post-16 provision in Havering offers a calm, structured environment where every activity has clear purpose. Young adults understand why they are there, staff work collaboratively with shared goals, and success is measured in confidence, independence, and life skills as much as academic achievement.

Staff consistently praise the clarity and focus of the provision, noting how students engage with real-world learning that genuinely prepares them for life beyond education.

Learning for Life

The provision supports learners aged 16+ with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social or emotional challenges. Learning is practical, meaningful, and centred on helping students thrive in their communities.

Alongside classroom learning, students develop everyday life skills such as travelling independently, budgeting, shopping, planning routines, cooking, and managing personal wellbeing. Pathways are personalised, taking into account each student’s strengths, interests, and long-term goals, whether that is independence, further study, or employment.

Your Role: Supporting Confidence and Independence

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with young adults both in the classroom and in community settings. Your support will help students practise skills, build confidence, and achieve independence in a safe and encouraging environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting classroom and community-based learning
  • Helping students develop real-life skills such as travel, shopping, and planning
  • Encouraging communication, self-advocacy, and confidence
  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
  • Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other specialist staff

Your role will make a real difference by giving students the support and consistency they need to grow into confident, independent young adults.

Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking someone who is patient, practical, and genuinely motivated by helping young people transition into adulthood. Experience in SEND, care, youth work, or education is valued, but the right attitude and understanding that progress is individual is essential.

You will join a supportive, well-led team that values collaboration and long-term impact.

Why Join This Provision?

  • Established, highly regarded Post-16 SEND setting
  • Strong emphasis on practical, real-world skills and community learning
  • Personalised pathways for every student
  • Close collaboration with families and professionals
  • Clear progression routes into further study, employment, or supported living
  • Long-term stability with a genuine temp-to-perm opportunity

If you want a role where your support helps young adults build confidence, independence, and essential life skills, we would love to hear from you.
