A specialist Post-16 SEND provision in North London is seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to support learners post-16 with a range of additional needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), communication difficulties, and general learning needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity to help young people gain essential life skills, independence, and confidence as they prepare for adulthood. The role would suit a thoughtful and creative teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and supporting diverse learners.
About the Role:
- Teach and support young people with EHCPs in a specialist Post-16 setting.
- Plan and deliver a curriculum that balances functional academics with life skills, employability, and personal development.
- Work closely with a skilled team of support staff and therapists to deliver tailored learning experiences.
- Support students in preparing for adulthood, including community engagement, workplace readiness, and independent living skills.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience working with young people with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, and communication needs.
- A creative and flexible approach to teaching.
- A passion for preparing learners with SEND for life beyond school and supporting their personal growth.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
