We are seeking a compassionate dedicated and professional SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil with autism. The pupil is verbal and will be working within the school’s SEN provision, following a Key Stage 1 curriculum. The SEN provision is well resourced, with a teacher and two other pupils, with access to an outdoor space. This child is relocating from another school therefore will require, empathy and patient to help him settle into a new environment which will be quite dysregulating for him at first.
This particular school are two form entry, meaning it is a very close knit team, they support one another and work well with strong communication, so would need someone to come into the role with experience however open to flexibility to learn how to work to meet the schools ethos.

About the Role

Provide consistent 1:1 support to a Year 5 child with autism.

Assist the pupil in accessing the KS1 curriculum and developing confidence and independence.

Support learning, communication, and social development within the SEN provision.

Work closely with the SENCo and class teacher to deliver personalised learning strategies.

Help the pupil settle into their new school environment, offering patience, empathy, and reassurance.
About You

Experience supporting children with autism and/or additional learning needs (preferred).

Experience within a Primary Setting (essential)
