Primary Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Early Years SEND Provision

Location: Limehouse, East London
Start Date: 2nd November 2026
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm
Contract: Full-time

Parker Smith Inclusion is working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Limehouse to recruit a caring, patient and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their Early Years SEND provision from 2nd November.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in early years or primary education who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them build the foundations for learning, communication, independence and social development.

You will work on a 1:1 basis with individual pupils as well as supporting other children within the provision, helping to create a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child can feel safe, understood and encouraged to reach their potential.

The Role

As a Primary LSA within the Early Years provision, you will support children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), adapting your approach to meet their individual learning and developmental needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support for pupils who require additional assistance.

  • Supporting other children across the Early Years SEND provision when needed.

  • Helping children develop communication, social interaction, emotional regulation and independence.

  • Supporting play-based learning and age-appropriate educational activities.

  • Working alongside the class teacher and wider support team to deliver engaging, inclusive learning experiences.

  • Helping children access routines, transitions and activities throughout the school day.

  • Encouraging positive relationships, confidence and participation through a patient and nurturing approach.

  • Supporting pupils with differing developmental needs, adapting activities and communication to suit each child.

  • Contributing to a safe, stimulating and supportive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who has a genuine passion for working with young children and understands the importance of providing consistent, individualised support.

To be considered, you must have:

  • Previous experience working within an Early Years or primary school setting.

  • Experience supporting children with SEND. Candidates from a nursery background are welcome, provided they have experience working with children with additional needs.

  • A patient, nurturing and flexible approach to supporting children's learning and development.

  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, teachers and other support staff.

  • A genuine commitment to inclusion and helping every child make progress at their own pace.

Experience supporting children with communication difficulties, developmental delays, autism or other additional needs would be beneficial.

You do not need to have worked in a specialist school, but you must understand that children with SEND may require a more individualised approach to learning, communication and daily routines.

Why Apply?

  • A rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference during the early stages of children's education.

  • The chance to support pupils both individually and as part of a wider provision.

  • A supportive school environment where patience, consistency and inclusive practice are valued.

  • Full-time, consistent working hours from Monday to Friday.
