Salary: Inner London M1 – UPS1 (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time | Long-term I Temp to Perm
Start Date: ASAP

Do you believe every child deserves a classroom where they feel understood, supported, and genuinely celebrated?

We are seeking to appoint a skilled and compassionate ARP Class Teacher to join an inclusive, values-led primary school in Brent. This role is based within an Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP), supporting pupils with a range of complex SEND including Autism (ASC), learning difficulties, and moderate learning difficulties (MLD).

This is a rewarding opportunity for a teacher who thrives on building relationships, delivering highly personalised learning, and helping pupils make meaningful progress academically, socially and emotionally. You will work closely with senior leaders, the SENDCo, families, external professionals and the Local Authority to ensure pupils achieve aspirational outcomes and feel safe, confident and ready to learn.

The Role – ARP Class Teacher

As the ARP Class Teacher, you will lead teaching and learning for a small group of pupils and play a key role in developing inclusive practice across the school. You will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons aligned with the National Curriculum

  • Provide highly personalised learning, adapting teaching to meet individual needs

  • Support pupils with Autism, communication needs and emotional regulation challenges

  • Create a calm, structured and nurturing classroom environment

  • Use positive behaviour strategies rooted in consistency, empathy and high expectations

  • Track progress through meaningful assessment and adapt teaching accordingly

  • Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists and external professionals

  • Contribute to EHCP targets and reviews, ensuring provision is effective and impactful

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with families, keeping communication clear and supportive

The Ideal Candidate

This role would suit an experienced SEND teacher or a mainstream teacher ready to transition into specialist provision. You will ideally have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience working with pupils with SEND in mainstream, ARP or specialist settings

  • Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes

  • Confidence supporting pupils with ASC, learning difficulties and MLD

  • Excellent organisation and communication skills

  • A calm, nurturing approach underpinned by high expectations

  • A strong commitment to inclusion, teamwork and professional development

  • The ability to work closely with the Local Authority and external agencies

What the School Offers

  • Inner London pay scale M1 – UPS1

  • A supportive Senior Leadership Team and strong SEND leadership

  • A well-resourced ARP with a focus on high-quality provision

  • Excellent CPD opportunities and ongoing professional development

  • A welcoming staff culture built on collaboration and wellbeing

  • The opportunity to make a long-term impact within an inclusive primary setting

Why This Role?

This is more than a class teacher role. It’s a chance to lead a provision where relationships come first, children are supported to thrive, and progress is measured in confidence, communication, and meaningful learning as well as academic achievement.

If you are a creative, patient and resilient teacher who believes in inclusive education and wants to make a genuine difference, we would love to hear from you!
