Pupil Inclusion Mentor | Mainstream Primary School | Kingsbury, NW9 | £95–£105 per day PAYE

What can change for a child when they know there is one person in school who understands them, believes in them and is always there when they need support?

For some children, a successful school day is not simply about completing their work. It is about having someone who understands when a transition feels overwhelming, recognises when they are beginning to struggle and knows how to help them get back on track.

That consistency can make a huge difference.

If you are patient, emotionally aware and passionate about helping children with additional needs build confidence and independence, this mainstream primary school in Kingsbury could be the opportunity for you.

The Setting

A welcoming mainstream primary school in Kingsbury, NW9, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including EHCPs, Autism, SEMH needs and ADHD.

The school understands the importance of consistency when supporting children who may find the demands of a busy mainstream environment challenging. You will become a familiar and trusted adult for pupils, working alongside teachers and the SENCO to ensure the right strategies are being used consistently throughout the school day.

You will be joining a team that values patience, relationships and individualised support.

The Role

As a Pupil Inclusion Mentor, you will provide day-to-day support to children who need additional guidance to access learning and feel settled within the classroom.

Your role will be centred around relationships. You will get to know the pupils on your caseload, understand their individual needs and provide the calm, reliable presence they can depend on.

Day to day, you will:

  • Support pupils with EHCPs, Autism, SEMH needs and ADHD in and around the classroom

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with the children you support

  • Help pupils navigate transitions, routines and changes throughout the school day

  • Recognise signs of dysregulation and provide appropriate support to help pupils regulate

  • Encourage children to develop independence and confidence

  • Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to maintain consistent support strategies

  • Help pupils engage positively with learning, peers and wider school life

  • Provide reassurance, structure and encouragement when children need it most

Who This Is For

  • Someone with experience supporting children with Autism, SEMH needs or ADHD

  • A patient, warm and emotionally intelligent individual who can build rapport quickly

  • Someone who understands the importance of consistency and clear boundaries

  • A reliable person who genuinely enjoys working with children

  • Candidates with experience in schools, youth work, sports coaching or family support are welcome

  • A background in education, psychology, youth work or a related field would be advantageous, but is not essential

  • Someone looking to build a long-term career within education, SEND, mentoring or pastoral support

What You Will Get

  • £95–£105 per day PAYE

  • Paid directly through PAYE with no umbrella company deductions

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday

  • Term time only

  • September start

  • Ongoing support from a dedicated Parker Smith Inclusion consultant

  • The opportunity to gain valuable experience supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs

  • A role where the relationships you build can have a genuine impact on a child's school experience

Why This Role Matters

For some children, having the right adult beside them can be the difference between a difficult day and a successful one.

You might be the person who helps them through a challenging transition, gives them the confidence to return to a lesson, helps them understand their emotions or simply provides the consistency they need to feel safe and ready to learn.

The impact is not always obvious in a single day.

But over time, those small moments of support can become increased confidence, greater independence and a child who feels much more capable of succeeding in school.
