Location: Kingsbury, North West London
Pay: £95–£100 per day PAYE (£475–£500 per week)
Contract: Full-time | Long-term
Start Date: Immediate

Are you patient, resilient and passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning?

Parker Smith Inclusion is recruiting a Primary SEMH Mentor to join a mainstream primary school in Kingsbury, providing dedicated 1:1 support to a primary-aged pupil with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference, helping a child manage their emotions, build confidence and develop positive relationships with learning.

You don't need extensive SEND experience. We're looking for someone with the right attitude, patience and ability to build trust.

About the Role

You'll provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day, helping the pupil access learning and manage the social and emotional demands of a mainstream school environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing tailored 1:1 mentoring and support.

  • Supporting emotional regulation and encouraging positive behaviour.

  • Helping the pupil engage with lessons and classroom activities.

  • Building a trusting relationship while maintaining clear boundaries.

  • Encouraging confidence, independence and positive social interactions.

  • Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team.

Who We're Looking For

This role could suit someone with experience in:

  • Education or teaching assistance.

  • Childcare or youth work.

  • Sports coaching or mentoring.

  • Residential care or behaviour support.

  • Pastoral or community work.

Previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour would be beneficial but isn't essential.

You'll need to be patient, reliable and adaptable, with the confidence to remain calm when situations become challenging.

Why This Role Matters

Having one consistent and supportive adult can make a significant difference to a child's school experience.

You'll help a pupil develop emotional regulation, confidence and the skills needed to access education and build positive relationships.

What You Can Expect

  • £95–£100 per day PAYE.

  • £475–£500 per week PAYE.

  • Immediate start.

  • Full-time, long-term opportunity.

  • Valuable experience in SEMH and SEND.

  • Opportunity to develop your mentoring and behaviour-support skills.

  • Potential pathway into a permanent position.

All staff are paid via PAYE, with no employer National Insurance deductions or agency administration fees taken from the advertised rate.
