Are you an experienced SEN Teacher looking for a role where you can make a genuine difference in a supportive specialist setting?

Parker Smith Inclusion are working with a welcoming primary school in Stanmore, Harrow, who are looking for a confident and compassionate SEN Teacher to join their SEND provision on a temporary basis.

About the role

This is an opportunity to work within a supportive SEND environment, delivering engaging and differentiated learning to pupils with additional needs.

You will work alongside an experienced team of SEND Teaching Assistants, helping create a structured, positive and inclusive learning environment.

The role would suit someone who understands that successful SEN teaching goes beyond delivering lessons. You will need to build strong relationships, provide structure and consistency, and adapt your approach to meet individual needs.

The setting

The school is an inclusive primary school in Stanmore, Harrow, with a strong commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs and helping every child reach their potential.

The SEND provision provides specialist support while promoting inclusion and positive outcomes for pupils.

The role

As the SEN Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons

  • Adapt teaching to meet a range of SEND needs

  • Work closely with experienced SEND Teaching Assistants

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils

  • Provide consistent boundaries and effective behaviour management

  • Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development

  • Monitor progress and adapt teaching accordingly

  • Work collaboratively with the wider school and SEND team

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone with strong SEN experience who is confident working with pupils who may present with challenging behaviour.

You could be a qualified teacher with QTS or an experienced unqualified teacher with a strong background in SEND.

Most importantly, you will need to be:

  • Experienced working with children with SEND

  • Confident managing challenging behaviour

  • Calm, patient and consistent

  • Adaptable and able to differentiate effectively

  • A strong communicator and team player

  • Passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
