Primary SEN Teacher – Autism and SEMH

Brent, North West London

£194.21 to £287.97 per day (PAYE) in line with Outer London MPS/UPS

ASAP start, full-time, long-term to permanent

Every child deserves a teacher who sees their potential, not just their challenges. If you believe the same, this could be the role that reminds you why you became a teacher in the first place.

I am supporting a brilliant specialist SEN school in Brent that provides a safe, creative, and truly nurturing environment for children with Autism (ASC) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school celebrates individuality, emotional growth, and small everyday victories that make a lifelong impact.

The Role

As a Primary SEN Teacher, you will

  • Teach KS2 students
  • Plan creative lessons that meet each pupil at their level and help them rediscover the joy of learning
  • Create a calm, inclusive classroom where trust and curiosity thrive
  • Work closely with therapists, support staff, and families, because progress happens through teamwork
  • Help pupils develop not only academically, but also emotionally and socially
  • Be part of a forward-thinking school that values creativity, wellbeing, and genuine relationships

Who I am looking for

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching or supporting pupils with Autism and/or SEMH
  • Patience, creativity, and emotional intelligence, the ability to turn small steps into big successes
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to reflective, child-centred teaching

Mainstream teachers who are ready to transition into SEND are highly encouraged to apply.

Why this school?

At this school, you won’t just deliver lessons; you will change lives. You will join a team that celebrates individuality, supports wellbeing, and believes that education is as much about belonging as it is about attainment.
