Primary SEN School

A creative, inspiring and welcoming primary special school in East London are seeking a SEN teacher to join their collaborative team. The school is a holistic setting and most of the students are pre verbal, with PECS, Makaton, and Core boards being used for communication. This special school provides learning and support to pupils with autism and other complex learning difficulties. They have a focus on positive behaviour support and this school fosters a happy and safe atmosphere where all pupils can learn freely in small class sizes of around 8 students, with 4 support staff. They have an Occupational Therapist and Speech and Language Therapist on site, and most of the therapy takes place in the classrooms. They are looking for someone who can make learning fun, engaging and creative, but as well as outstanding support for the students this special school boasts incredible development and training opportunities for staff with a focus on staff retention and supporting talent. Whilst special school teaching experience would be beneficial, I am welcoming anyone who is eager to transition into special schools from mainstream.
