This SEN Teacher position is based within a primary special education setting in Harrow, supporting pupils from early years to age 11 with complex and profound learning needs including severe Autism (ASC), SLD, PMLD, significant developmental delay, physical and mobility needs and complex medical conditions.

Job Description

  • Plan and deliver highly personalised learning programmes for pupils with complex needs

  • Teach pupils with Autism, SLD and PMLD using structured and sensory-aware approaches

  • Create calm, predictable and nurturing classroom environments

  • Support communication, emotional regulation, independence and engagement

  • Implement and review EHCP outcomes and individual learning targets

  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and multi-disciplinary professionals

  • Use trauma-informed and child-centred strategies to support learning and behaviour

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience in SEND or a strong commitment to developing specialist SEND practice

  • High levels of emotional intelligence, patience and resilience

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-based environment

  • Motivation to support long-term pupil development rather than short-term outcomes
