Are you a Primary Teacher looking for a role where progress is measured in confidence, communication and independence — not just data points? This is a genuinely rewarding opportunity to make a long-term impact within a specialist primary SEND setting.

The Setting

This is a purpose-built specialist primary school supporting pupils from Early Years to Year 6 with severe and complex learning needs, including:

  • Autism / ASC

  • SLD and PMLD

  • Significant developmental delay

  • Sensory processing needs

  • Physical, mobility and complex medical needs

Many pupils are non-verbal or use AAC systems and benefit from a highly structured, calm and predictable learning environment. Class sizes are small, staffing ratios are high, and learning is fully personalised.

The Role

As a Primary SEN Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver highly personalised lessons aligned to EHCP outcomes

  • Teach pupils with Autism, SLD and PMLD using structured, sensory-aware approaches

  • Create a calm, safe and predictable classroom environment

  • Support communication, independence, regulation and life skills

  • Use child-centred and trauma-informed strategies to support behaviour and engagement

  • Work collaboratively with experienced TAs, therapists and external professionals

  • Track progress in a meaningful, realistic and pupil-centred way

The Ideal Candidate

This role suits teachers who are committed to specialist SEND practice and long-term impact. You will:

  • Hold QTS

  • Have SEND experience or a strong, informed desire to work in specialist provision

  • Be patient, resilient and emotionally intelligent

  • Understand that progress can be slow, non-linear and individual

  • Value teamwork and strong professional relationships

What’s on Offer

  • Permanent, full-time position in a supportive specialist primary school

  • Pay to scale (MPS1–UPS1) plus SEN allowance

  • Structured induction and ongoing SEND-specific CPD

  • Strong collaborative culture and shared planning

  • Access to specialist resources and adapted learning spaces

  • Clear commitment to staff wellbeing

  • PAYE-only employment through an ethical SEND recruitment specialist
