Are you a passionate SEN teacher looking for a rewarding Key Stage 2 SEN Teacher job in Cricklewood?

A specialist SEN school in Cricklewood, North West London is seeking a dedicated Key Stage 2 SEN Teacher to lead a small autism specialist class. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive and structured environment where teaching is highly personalised and every pupil’s progress is celebrated.

The class consists of six pupils diagnosed with autism who are working across a range of learning levels from Reception to Year 4. The successful teacher will deliver engaging, adaptive lessons that support pupils’ academic development, communication skills and independence.

This is a long-term teaching role with the opportunity to secure a permanent position for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach a small Key Stage 2 class of six pupils with autism

  • Deliver lessons across the primary national curriculum subjects

  • Plan differentiated lessons based on EHCP targets and individual learning needs

  • Create a structured, supportive classroom environment that encourages engagement

  • Support pupils’ communication, social development and emotional regulation

  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider SEN team

  • Build positive relationships that help pupils feel safe and motivated to learn

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a valid Teacher Reference Number

  • Minimum two years of experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs

  • Primary trained teacher with experience delivering the primary curriculum

  • Recent classroom experience and knowledge of modern SEN teaching strategies

  • Flexible, energetic and able to adapt teaching approaches to individual needs

  • Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills

Classroom Support

  • Two experienced teaching assistants supporting the class

  • Collaborative working with SEN professionals and support staff

  • Potential adjustment to class structure after Easter depending on pupil needs
