Are you a passionate and dedicated primary SEN Teacher looking for a supportive and inclusive SEND school?

We are working with an SEN specialist school based in North London that is seeking a primary teacher to start with them in September. The school caters to students with complex needs, with a high percentage of ASC and non-verbal students. In the classroom, there are four members of staff to help support the teacher: three SEN teaching assistants and an experienced HLTA, who will help cover when needed to focus on PPA sessions.

Responsibilities of the PrimarySEN Teacher Role:

  • Plan and deliver engaging appropriate lessons tailored to the pupil's needs
  • Using different strategies, including sensory-based learning
  • Work closely with the therapy team and support staff
  • Support the use of different ways of communication methods such as, Makaton, PCES and AAC devices
  • Building strong relationships with parents and carers

Requirements for the Primary SEN Teacher Role:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • ECTs are encouraged to apply
  • Experience teaching children in primary with SEND
