Are you a qualified primary teacher passionate about inclusive education?
A mainstream primary school in Islington is opening a brand-new ARP (Additionally Resourced Provision) this September and is looking for a Primary SEN Teacher to lead a class of up to 12 pupils with SEND.
This is a fantastic opportunity to shape and grow a new specialist provision within a mainstream setting.
About the role:
- Teaching a small class of up to 12 students with identified SEN (primarily ASC)
- Planning and delivering personalised, accessible lessons across the primary curriculum
- Leading a team of dedicated support staff (TAs and/or HLTAs)
- Collaborating with SENCOs, therapists, and parents to support pupil progress
- Creating a structured, communication-friendly classroom using TEACCH, visuals, or other relevant strategies
- Supporting emotional regulation and sensory needs
What the school is looking for:
- Experience teaching pupils with SEND, particularly autism and communication needs
- Confident in adapting the curriculum and using inclusive teaching strategies
- Calm, compassionate, and highly organised
- Strong understanding of EHCPs, behaviour support, and differentiation
- Eager to be part of building something new and meaningful
