Salary: M1–UPS3 (Fringe) + SEN Allowance
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time | Permanent

Are you a primary teacher who wants the time, support and flexibility to truly personalise learning?

A highly regarded specialist primary school in Watford is seeking a dedicated Primary SEN Teacher to join their team in September 2026. This is an opportunity to work in a setting where inclusion is not a bolt-on, but the foundation of everything the school does.

The school supports pupils aged 4–11 with autism, complex learning needs and social, emotional and mental health differences. Teaching here is creative, adaptive and relationship-driven. Progress is measured through communication, independence, emotional regulation and academic development, always aligned to individual EHCP outcomes.

The Role

You will lead a small KS2 class, supported by a skilled team of LSAs. You will plan and deliver differentiated lessons that meet pupils at their developmental stage, adapting the curriculum to ensure accessibility and engagement.

You will create a structured, nurturing classroom environment where pupils feel safe to take risks, build confidence and develop independence. Working collaboratively with therapists, families and external professionals, you will ensure a joined-up approach to each child’s provision. You will also guide and develop your classroom support staff, building consistency and high expectations within your team.

The Ideal Candidate

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience working with pupils with autism, complex needs and/or SEMH
• A flexible, reflective and creative teaching approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine commitment to inclusive education

Mainstream primary teachers looking to transition into a specialist SEND setting are warmly encouraged to apply.

Why Join This School?

• Small class sizes and strong staff-to-pupil ratios
• Supportive and approachable leadership
• Comprehensive induction and ongoing CPD
• Protected PPA time with some flexibility
• Wellbeing support, including counselling and physiotherapy
• Free on-site parking
• Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme

This is a school where teachers are trusted, supported and given the tools to make a meaningful impact every day.
