Parker Smith Inclusion are supporting a mainstream primary with an SEND provision to find a skilled, patient and resilient SEND teaching assistant to support a small group of children with EHCPs with their primary need being autism. Could it be you?

You will be based in a Year 4 class and need to be comfortable supporting with KS2 curriculum, you'll be working alongside another TA at parts of the day but you will be based in the Year 4 class all day. 

  • Child 1 - One Year 4 pupil working academically below age-related expectations, with no SEMH or behaviour needs, requiring learning to be broken down, repeated, and delivered at a slower pace. 
  • Child 2 - academic and has a love for maths however does require clear, broken down instructions, he has experience some recent life challenges meaning that he can become dysregulated which can be shown as shouting and leaving the classroom, he will require strong boundaries, emotional regulation tools and movement breaks. 
  • Child 3 - is transitioning into the school meaning that he will require patience and encouragement to create new friendships whilst he settles into his new surroundings. 
  • Pupils may be EAL, but communicate effectively using visuals, core boards, and structured choices
  • Pupils receive Speech and Language Therapy

 

I'm looking for teaching assistant that are positive, energetic and have inative meaning they need little guidance when starting the new role. I will be interested in CVs that have the following experience; 

  • Have experience supporting children with autism and EHCPs
  • Be extremely patient, calm, and resilient
  • Have strong behaviour management strategies
  • Be confident supporting emotional regulation and dysregulation
  • Use a firm but fair approach
  • Be confident using Zones of Regulation, visuals, and choice-based communication
  • Understand the importance of movement breaks and regulation strategies
  • Be nurturing, consistent, and able to build trusting relationships
