Some pupils need more than classroom support.
They need someone who can understand their communication, recognise their individual needs and provide the consistency they need to feel safe and ready to learn.
A mainstream primary school in Hounslow is looking for a caring and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex needs within a specialist classroom.
The setting
The school is a mainstream primary with a dedicated complex needs classroom supporting pupils with a range of additional needs.
The children you will support have significant needs, including non-speaking pupils and those who require intimate care.
The classroom provides a structured and supportive environment where pupils are given the individual attention and consistency they need to access learning and develop their independence.
The role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support pupils with complex SEND needs

Provide one-to-one and small-group support
-
Support non-speaking pupils with communication and engagement
-
Assist with personal and intimate care where required
-
Help pupils access classroom learning and activities
-
Build trusting and positive relationships
-
Follow individual support and care plans
-
Support emotional regulation and wellbeing
-
Work closely with the class teacher and wider inclusion team

Help create a safe, calm and nurturing classroom
Who we are looking for
This role would suit someone who is patient, caring and comfortable supporting children with significant additional needs.
Previous experience with complex SEND is highly desirable, particularly experience supporting non-speaking pupils or children requiring intimate care.
