Qualified SENCO – Primary School
Are you a qualified SENCO looking for your next opportunity within a supportive primary school?
We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified SENCO to join a primary school on a full-time basis. The school is open to candidates who are available for an immediate start or a January start, depending on availability.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated SEN professional to take a lead role in ensuring that pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities receive the appropriate support, provision and opportunities to thrive.
The successful candidate will be confident working collaboratively with school leaders, teachers, support staff, parents/carers and external professionals to ensure high-quality SEND provision across the school.
The Role
As SENCO, you will be responsible for:

Leading and coordinating the school's SEND provision.

Identifying pupils with additional needs and ensuring appropriate support is put in place.

Working closely with class teachers to develop and implement effective SEND strategies.

Monitoring and evaluating the progress and provision of pupils with SEND.

Supporting staff with advice, guidance and strategies to meet individual needs.

Working closely with parents and carers to ensure positive communication and strong partnerships.

Liaising with external professionals and agencies where appropriate.

Contributing to the development and implementation of the school's SEND policies and procedures.

Ensuring appropriate records, assessments and documentation are maintained.

Supporting the school leadership team with SEND-related matters.

Promoting an inclusive approach throughout the school and ensuring all pupils are given the opportunity to achieve their potential.
About You
The successful candidate will:

Be a qualified SENCO with the required NPQ SENCO qualification.

Have strong knowledge and understanding of SEND within a primary school setting.

Have experience coordinating or leading SEND provision.

Be confident working with teachers, teaching assistants, families and external professionals.
-
Have excellent communication and organisational skills.

Be proactive, approachable and solution-focused.

Have high expectations for pupils with additional needs.

Be passionate about inclusion and ensuring every child has access to the support they need.

Be able to work effectively as part of a wider school leadership and teaching team.
