Do you want to teach in a setting where every child learns differently, and every small achievement matters?

We’re recruiting a Primary SEND Teacher to join a specialist education setting in Watford from January 2027. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher to support primary-aged pupils with autism and additional learning needs, helping them develop academically, socially and emotionally.

About the Role

You’ll lead a class, delivering engaging and personalised lessons that reflect each pupil’s individual needs, abilities and EHCP outcomes.

Working alongside a supportive team of Learning Support Assistants, you’ll create a structured classroom where pupils can build confidence, develop communication skills and become more independent.

The Setting

This specialist primary setting provides tailored education for children with autism, learning difficulties and speech and language needs.

Learning extends beyond traditional classroom activities, with opportunities to develop physical, social and life skills through activities such as swimming, PE and trampolining.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Planning and delivering personalised lessons

• Supporting pupils with autism and additional needs

• Adapting teaching to different learning styles and abilities

• Monitoring progress and contributing to EHCP reviews

• Promoting positive behaviour, communication and independence

• Working closely with LSAs, families and other professionals

Who We’re Looking For

We’d love to hear from qualified Primary Teachers who are enthusiastic, adaptable and committed to inclusive education.

Previous SEND or autism experience would be beneficial, but teachers looking to develop their specialist skills are also encouraged to apply.

You’ll need patience, creativity and the ability to build positive relationships while maintaining a consistent and supportive learning environment.
