Are you a primary teacher who believes inclusion should be woven into every part of school life?

A warm and inclusive primary school in Brent is seeking a skilled teacher to take on a rewarding split role: teaching a Year 1 class in the afternoons and leading a small SEND classroom provision in the mornings.

This is a unique opportunity to combine high-quality KS1 teaching with specialist SEND practice, making a meaningful impact across two complementary settings within the same school community.

The Role

In the afternoons, you will teach a Year 1 class, delivering engaging and creative lessons that build strong foundations in phonics, early writing, number and social development. You will work closely with the Year 1 team and share PPA time alongside colleagues, ensuring collaboration and consistency across the year group.

In the mornings, you will teach a small SEND class of approximately eight pupils accessing learning within a more tailored environment. Teaching in this setting is highly personalised and structured. You will adapt the curriculum to meet individual needs, support communication and regulation, and align learning with EHCP outcomes.

The Ideal Candidate

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching in KS1
• Strong understanding of adaptive teaching and inclusive practice
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND, including autism and additional learning needs
• Patient, creative and solution-focused
• Committed to working collaboratively with colleagues and families

Why Join This School?

• Outer London pay scale
• Shared PPA time with the Year 1 team
• Supportive leadership and experienced SENCO
• A strong culture of inclusion across the whole school
• Opportunity to further develop SEND expertise within a mainstream setting

This is a rare opportunity to shape learning across Year 1 and a dedicated SEND classroom, helping every child feel understood, capable and successful.

If you are ready to make a real difference in an inclusive primary school, we would love to hear from you.
