Primary SEND Teaching Assistant

- Pay Rate: £90 – £100 per day PAYE (based on experience)

Parker Smith Inclusion is supporting a mainstream primary school in their search for a compassionate Teaching Assistant to support primary aged children with a range of SEND needs such as ASD, ADHD and SEMH on a 1:1 basis. If you think you have the right personal qualities and experience to support young learners both academically and socially, then this could be the perfect next step for your career.
The Role:
- Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support to pupils with ASD, ADHD and SEMH needs
- Assist the classroom teacher with planning, preparing and adapting learning in the classroom to suit the individual needs of the young learners
- Promote positive behaviour within the classroom and implement behaviour support strategies
- Work alongside classroom teacher to successfully implement the Individualised Education Plans (IEPs)
- Support with de-escalating of challenging situations while demonstrating empathy and understanding of student needs
Type of candidate we are looking for:
- A Teaching assistant with a genuine passion for making a positive difference in the life of young learners
- Experience in supporting students with ASD, ADHD and SEMH needs
- Patience, Empathy and a positive, proactive attitude
- Great communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil well-being
