We are recruiting a compassionate and committed Primary SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist primary school supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), non-verbal communication and complex needs. This is a long-term role offering stability, structure and the opportunity to make a genuine difference in children’s daily lives.
This role goes beyond general classroom support. You will play a key part in helping pupils feel safe, regulated and ready to engage with learning through predictable routines, clear communication and emotionally attuned support.
The Role
As a Primary SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with Autism and complex SEN

Support communication through visual timetables, structured routines and AAC strategies

Assist pupils with sensory regulation and emotional wellbeing throughout the school day

Work closely with teachers and the SEN team to follow EHCPs and individual support plans

Support learning at a developmentally appropriate pace, celebrating small but meaningful progress

Respond to dysregulation using calm, consistent and trauma-informed approaches

Remain observant, proactive and emotionally present throughout the school day
