Parker Smith Inclusion is working in partnership with a large primary school based in Plaistow that are part of a larger trust, they have a specialist SEND classroom and a dedicated team for speech and language and are seeking experienced SEND teaching assistants to support the new starters in September.
Working as a Primary SEND Teaching Assistant you will be either 1:1 or small group support for young children across Reception - Year 6 that have SEND such as; autism, speech and language, dysregulated behaviours, sensory needs, non-verbal, learning difficulties and cognitive delays. You'll need to be patient, empathetic and caring towards each student and support their individual needs, this is a busy role that will keep you on your feet so you'll need to bring energy and excitement to the classroom each day!
You'll support students and the teacher with their classwork, mostly based around play based and sensory learning, using alternative communication tools to the students that need it.
