Are you a passionate Primary Teacher looking to specialise within Autism and SEND?
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Sutton is seeking a dedicated SEND Teacher to join their well-established Autism Resource Provision (ARP), supporting KS1 and EYFS pupils with Autism and complex communication needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a nurturing specialist setting with small class sizes, excellent support staff, and a strong focus on communication, emotional wellbeing, and personalised learning.
The Role
You will lead a small specialist class supporting pupils with EHCPs whose primary need is Autism (Communication & Interaction). Many pupils are pre-verbal and have sensory regulation needs, so a calm, nurturing, and structured approach is essential.
You will:
-
Plan and deliver highly personalised lessons
-
Lead and manage a skilled class team
-
Use total communication strategies throughout the day
-
Support communication, emotional regulation, and engagement
-
Work closely with therapists, SEND leaders, and families
We are looking for teachers who:
-
Hold QTS
-
Have experience supporting pupils with Autism/SEND
-
Understand sensory and communication needs
-
Are nurturing, patient, and reflective practitioners
-
Are passionate about inclusive education
SEND/ARP experience is welcomed, but the school would also love to hear from strong primary teachers looking to transition into specialist Autism provision.
What the School Offers:
-
Supportive and experienced SEND leadership
-
Small classes with excellent TA support
-
A well-established Autism Provision
-
Long-term progression opportunities
-
A warm and inclusive school community
