PRU Behaviour Mentor
Location: Stanmore, North West London
Pay: £90 to £110 per day PAYE
Contract: Full time, term time only, temporary to permanent

A Pupil Referral Unit in Stanmore is seeking a dedicated PRU Behaviour Mentor to support secondary aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. Many students have experienced disrupted education, trauma, exclusion or significant challenges outside of school. This setting provides structure, clear boundaries and consistent relationships to help young people re engage with learning and rebuild trust in adults.
The role
• Support pupils throughout the school day including lessons, transitions, break and lunch
• Deliver 1:1 and small group mentoring focused on emotional regulation and positive behaviour
• Respond to challenging situations using restorative, trauma informed and de escalation approaches
• Follow behaviour plans and contribute to EHCP targets and pastoral interventions
• Work closely with teachers, senior leaders and pastoral teams to maintain a consistent approach
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils who may be guarded or reluctant to engage
Who this role would suit
• Experience in SEMH, behaviour support, youth work, mentoring, alternative provision or care settings
• Calm, resilient and emotionally intelligent approach to challenging behaviour
• Confident managing conflict and supporting pupils through moments of dysregulation
• Passionate about helping young people re engage with education and make positive choices
• Committed to a full time, long term role where consistency is key
