PRU Behaviour Mentor
Haringey | September 2026
Are you passionate about supporting children and young people who need a fresh start?
We're working with a welcoming Pupil Referral Unit in Haringey that supports pupils from Primary through to Year 11 across two sites. They are looking for resilient, empathetic Behaviour Mentors to join their team and help pupils overcome barriers to learning.
Many of the young people have experienced challenges that have prevented them from thriving in mainstream education. Your role will be to build trusting relationships, promote emotional regulation, and help pupils develop the confidence and skills needed to succeed both in and beyond the classroom.
Pupils may present with SEMH needs, complex behaviours, Autism (ASC), ADHD, and a range of social and environmental challenges.
What We're Looking For
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, challenging behaviour or SEND.
- A background in education, youth work, mentoring, care, sports coaching or similar.
- The ability to build positive, trusting relationships.
- A calm, resilient and nurturing approach.
- School-based experience is welcomed, but voluntary, informal or transferable experience is equally valued.
Why Join?
- Excellent experience for careers in teaching, educational psychology, clinical psychology, counselling, social work, occupational therapy and pastoral support.
- Ongoing training and professional development.
- A supportive, experienced team who are passionate about helping young people succeed.
- The opportunity to make a genuine and lasting difference in a child's life.
