PRU Behaviour Mentor
£90 - £100 PAYE

Do you have a passion and talent for supporting children and young people with behavioural and social emotional and mental health needs?
We are working with a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) that is based within East London. This is a secondary site and they are looking for experienced behavioural mentors to join them. Suitable candidates must have experience supporting young people. You must be resilient, understanding and confident in supporting young people with behavioural and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).
Even if your experience is informal/voluntary, I want to hear from you! The children you will support will have a variety of needs which can include significant complex behaviour challenges and sometimes associated SEND.
Responsibilities
- Support children with behavioral challenges through tailored mentoring and guidance.
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with educators and specialists.
- Foster a positive learning environment by utilizing effective communication and behavior management techniques.
- Assist with speech therapy and early childhood education activities as needed.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to parents and educators.
- Engage in tutoring and mentoring to enhance academic and social skills.
PRU Behaviour Mentor requirements:
- Experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour and SEMH
- Teaching Assistant / Learning Mentor / Youth Worker experience / Behaviour Mentor
- Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships
- A passion for working with SEND is essential
