Are you a psychology graduate (or considering a future in therapy, mental health or education) and looking for real, hands-on experience?
We’re working with a number of schools that support children with autism, SEMH and additional needs, and they’re looking for caring, reliable people to join them as SEN Teaching Assistants.
This is a practical, people-focused role where you’ll be supporting pupils day-to-day, helping them regulate, engage with learning and feel safe in school. It’s ideal if you’re looking to build experience before further study or a long-term career in SEN.
What you’ll be doing:
-
Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups
-
Helping children manage emotions and behaviour
-
Supporting learning, routines and transitions
-
Working closely with teachers and SEN staff
This role would suit someone who is:
-
Patient, calm and genuinely interested in SEN
-
Keen to gain classroom experience
-
Confident building relationships with children
-
Open to learning and developing on the job
Previous SEN experience is helpful, but not essential, attitude and commitment matter most.
