Psychology Graduate Opportunity – SEND Support Roles

Barking & Dagenham | September Start

Are you a Psychology graduate looking to begin a meaningful career supporting children and young people?

We are currently working with a wide range of education settings across Barking and Dagenham, including mainstream primary and secondary schools, specialist SEND schools, SEMH provisions, and inclusive PRUs. These schools are seeking Graduate SEND Support Staff to work on a 1:1 basis and with small groups of pupils.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting children and young people with a variety of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, SLD, ODD and PMLD.

This is far more than classroom experience. You will gain real insight into behaviour, communication, emotional regulation, and child development in a practical, school-based environment.

For many graduates, this role becomes a key stepping stone into future careers such as Educational Psychology, Teaching, Therapy, Counselling, or Behaviour Support. It provides the kind of experience that cannot be learned from theory alone.

The work can be challenging at times, but it is also highly rewarding. You will witness genuine progress in pupils’ learning, confidence and independence, often in small but meaningful steps, and play an important role in that journey.
