If you have completed a Psychology degree and want experience that actually relates to your future career, this could be a strong place to start.

Parker Smith Inclusion is recruiting a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant for a specialist SEND setting in Camden.

You will work directly with children or young people with additional needs while developing practical experience in communication, behaviour, emotional regulation and child development.

What could you gain experience in?

  • Autism and neurodiversity
  • Communication and interaction
  • Emotional regulation
  • Behaviour as communication
  • Social development
  • Individualised learning
  • Supporting independence
  • Working alongside SEND professionals

This is not an observation placement.

You will become an active part of the classroom team and be expected to build relationships, support pupils consistently and contribute throughout the school day.

Who should apply?

This role could suit graduates considering careers in:

  • Educational Psychology
  • Clinical Psychology
  • Speech and Language Therapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • SEND Teaching
  • Child and Adolescent Mental Health

Previous experience with children or young people through volunteering, tutoring, mentoring, care or schools would be highly desirable.

Why consider this role?

Working directly with pupils gives you context.

You will gain a much clearer understanding of how SEND affects learning, relationships, behaviour and communication in real situations.

Pay: £95–£110 per day PAYE, depending on experience.

Parker Smith Inclusion specialises exclusively in SEND and specialist education recruitment and regularly supports graduates looking to build relevant experience.

Parker Smith Inclusion is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Successful applicants will require satisfactory references, appropriate vetting and an enhanced DBS check.
