Experienced HLTA Autism Resource Provision ARP
Temp to Perm Opportunity
Location Havering East London
Pay £100 to £130 per day PAYE
Full time | September Start
Inclusion is not just a policy at this school. It is part of everyday practice. Every child is understood, supported and given the structure and encouragement they need to thrive.
A highly inclusive and welcoming mainstream primary school in Havering is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their specialist Autism Resource Provision. The provision is fully integrated within the school community and plays a central role in shaping the school’s inclusive culture.
This is an excellent temp to perm opportunity for someone looking for long term stability, professional growth and the chance to make a genuine impact. Starting in September on a temporary basis, the role offers a clear pathway into a permanent position for the right candidate. This gives you the opportunity to settle into the school, build meaningful relationships and demonstrate your strengths within a supportive environment.
The Role
As part of the ARP team, you will support pupils with autism and complex needs to access learning in a structured, engaging and meaningful way.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Leading 1:1 and small group interventions focused on communication, engagement and independence
• Delivering tailored support linked to EHCP targets and adapting approaches to meet individual needs
• Supporting emotional regulation and sensory needs using calm, consistent and relationship based strategies
• Building strong and trusting relationships with pupils who benefit from routine and predictability
• Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and families to ensure a joined up approach
• Providing confident classroom cover when required while maintaining consistency, routines and expectations
What We Are Looking For
This role would suit someone who has:
• Previous experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant
• Experience supporting children with autism and complex needs in either specialist or mainstream settings
• Confidence adapting learning and support strategies in the moment
• A calm, patient and resilient approach
• A reflective and proactive attitude towards inclusive practice
• A genuine interest in securing a long term role within a supportive school community
Why This School Stands Out
• A genuinely inclusive mainstream setting where the ARP is fully embedded within the wider school community
• Strong and supportive leadership with a clear commitment to high quality SEND provision
• Well resourced sensory and intervention spaces designed to meet specialist needs
• A stable and collaborative staff team with a strong sense of shared purpose
• A culture built on consistency, kindness and high expectations for every child
Why This Opportunity Is Different
The temp to perm structure allows you to properly experience the school environment before committing long term. It gives you the opportunity to showcase your skills in practice and move into a permanent role based on your impact and fit within the team rather than your CV alone.
For the right person, this is a clear pathway into a rewarding long term position within a highly supportive and inclusive school.
We are a specialist SEND consultancy focused on long term matches rather than short term placements. We take the time to understand what you are looking for and only introduce you to schools where we believe you can genuinely thrive and feel valued.

If this sounds like the right next step for you, or something you would like to explore further, we would love to have a confidential conversation.
