Qualified SEN Teacher (QTS/QTLS) – SEMH, Autism & ADHD

Barnet
After Easter or September 2026 | Long-Term to Permanent
Outer London MPS (PAYE only)
Full-Time

If you’re a qualified teacher who is ready to make a deeper, more meaningful impact, this opportunity could be exactly what you’re looking for.

We are working with a specialist SEMH school in North London supporting secondary-aged pupils with Autism, ADHD, and SEMH needs, all with EHCPs. The setting is part of a well-regarded trust known for its therapeutic and relationship-led approach. The environment is calm, structured, and consistent, with a strong emphasis on connection and trust.

This is a rewarding but demanding role. Many of the young people have experienced disrupted education and may take time to build relationships. You will need resilience, strong teaching practice, and the ability to connect authentically. In return, you will be part of a highly supportive team with experienced leadership and a clear, shared ethos.

What the role involves:

  • Full-time classroom teaching in a secondary specialist setting
  • Delivering a broad, adapted curriculum to small classes
  • Working alongside experienced TAs and pastoral staff
  • Using restorative and trauma-informed approaches
  • Prioritising emotional safety, regulation, and relationships

Who this role would suit:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS or QTLS)
  • Primary, Secondary, or SEND-trained
  • Experience in SEMH, PRU, or specialist settings is advantageous
  • ECTs are welcome if you are resilient and open to learning
  • A calm, reflective, and values-driven practitioner

What’s on offer:

  • A progressive trust with a strong commitment to inclusion
  • High-quality CPD, mentoring, and ongoing training
  • Supportive and visible leadership
  • Long-term to permanent opportunity with progression
  • PAYE daily rate aligned to Outer London MPS

Requirements:

  • QTS or QTLS (essential)
  • Strong behaviour management grounded in empathy and consistency
  • A genuine commitment to supporting young people with additional needs
  • Ability to commute to Barnet full-time (Monday to Friday)
