This is far more than just a role — it’s an opportunity to become part of a warm, nurturing, and family-style community where every child is supported, understood, and encouraged to thrive.

What Makes This School Unique?

  • Small class sizes that allow for meaningful relationships and personalised support
  • A residential setting where children live in individual houses, thoughtfully designed to feel like a real home
  • A genuine family atmosphere, with shared mealtimes and a strong sense of belonging
  • Outstanding facilities, including a recording studio, on-site swimming pool, and even a private farm
  • A rich programme of evening activities such as swimming, bowling, cinema trips and sports, ensuring pupils enjoy a balanced and fulfilling experience

The Role

As a Residential Care Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils both in their daily routines and personal development. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting children to develop their social, emotional and behavioural skills
  • Ensuring pupils are safe, secure and fully engaged in both learning and leisure activities
  • Providing guidance around health, hygiene, relationships and independent living
  • Accompanying pupils to appointments and outings
  • Observing, recording and contributing to individual care and development plans

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Nurturing, patient and resilient, with a genuine passion for supporting young people
  • Committed to making a lasting difference in the lives of children with SEMH needs
  • A strong team player with a positive and proactive approach
  • Experienced in a similar role (desirable but not essential — attitude and commitment are key)

Why Join Parker Smith Inclusion?

  • Over 350 five-star Google reviews
  • A people-first, ethical consultancy approach
  • Specialists in SEND recruitment, with a genuine passion for inclusion
  • PAYE payroll — no umbrella companies
  • Ongoing, personalised support from application through to placement

If you feel you could make a meaningful contribution to this already incredible team, we would love to hear from you.
