Science Teacher (SEND) – Summer Term (Potential to Extend)
Make the final term truly count.
There are some teaching roles where you deliver a curriculum… and others where you genuinely change a young person’s future. This opportunity sits firmly in the latter.
We are working with a specialist SEND college that offers something truly different. For many of their students, mainstream education simply hasn’t worked. But here, they are given the chance to rebuild confidence, gain meaningful qualifications, and develop skills for life.
As their Science Teacher for the summer term, you will play a vital role in that journey.
You will lead the final push for GCSE Biology (AQA) and support students in completing their Entry Level Science portfolios, adapting your teaching to ensure every learner can access, engage, and achieve. Small wins here are big moments, and your ability to break down complex ideas into meaningful, relatable learning will be key.
Beyond the classroom, you’ll take ownership of the science provision, managing practicals, and ensuring everything is set up for safe, engaging, hands-on learning.
This role would suit someone who is calm, grounded and emotionally intelligent. Someone who understands that behaviour is communication, and that building trust is just as important as delivering content.
What matters most:
- Strong knowledge of AQA GCSE Biology and Entry Level Science
- Experience supporting students with SEND (ASC, SEMH, MLD)
- Confidence with practical science and lab management
- The ability to build rapport quickly and keep students motivated during exam season
This is more than a summer term role, it’s a chance to be part of a setting where education is rebuilt around the learner, not the system.
If you’re looking for a role where your impact is visible every single day, we would love to speak with you!
