Some moments in education matter more than others. The final term is one of them.

At Parker Smith Inclusion, we are supporting a specialist setting looking for a Science Teacher to guide Key Stage 4 students with SEND through the final stretch of their GCSEs and Entry Level qualifications.

This is more than a teaching role, it’s an opportunity to help students who may have faced barriers rediscover confidence, stay engaged, and realise what they’re capable of at a crucial point in their journey.

These are young people who haven’t always had a straightforward journey through education. Some have sat in classrooms feeling like they don’t belong, some have been told directly or indirectly that they’re “behind.”, some have simply stopped believing they can succeed.

They may present with ASC, SEMH, or Moderate Learning Difficulties, and during exam season, that pressure can feel overwhelming. But what matters most is that they are trying.

Even when it doesn’t always look like it. Even when it comes out as frustration, silence, or disengagement, there is still potential there, waiting for the right person to unlock it.

Your role is to be that person.

The one who stays calm when a student feels overwhelmed, the person who notices when they’re about to give up and gently brings them back, the one who helps them experience small wins, until those wins start to feel real.

Your Role

  • Lead GCSE Biology (AQA) exam preparation while supporting students to complete their AQA Entry Level Science portfolios.
  • Bring clarity to complex ideas, adapting lessons to suit a range of needs including ASC, SEMH, and Moderate Learning Difficulties.
  • Play a key role in the smooth running of the department, managing the prep room, organising practicals, maintaining stock, and ensuring all health and safety standards are met.
  • Create a calm, structured environment where students feel supported during what can be an overwhelming time.
  • Familiarity with AQA practical requirements is essential to ensure a smooth transition for students.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong knowledge of AQA Science, particularly GCSE Biology and Entry Level.
  • Experience supporting students with SEND.
  • Confidence managing practicals and lab responsibilities.
  • Resilience, consistency, and the ability to keep students engaged in the final term.

For the right teacher, this role is a chance to make a real difference at the moment it matters most, get in touch with us today by contacting luke.conner@psinclusion.co.uk or calling 0203 011 4848 to find out more about this position.
