Salary - Unqualified Teacher: £30,000 - £33,000
              Qualified Teachers are paid as close to standard pay scales as possible.

Are you a science specialist who feels out of place in the rigid, high-pressure environment of mainstream schools? 

We are currently looking for a Science Teacher to work in one of our SEMH settings in Greenwich, South East London. The environment is informal and relaxed, where teachers will be called by their first names and can wear casual clothing. The school is without the typical behavioural challenges, the students are not violent or aggressive but tend to struggle more with anxiety and can shut down, this is why it is vital for the students, that we look for someone with the right social personality to come into this role, as these students can find new people challenging.

You will be required to teach small classes (maximum of eight pupils) and providing essential one-to-one support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching Secondary Science, including GCSEs and Functional Skills.
  • Leading A-Level Chemistry instruction.
  • Supporting students with academic levels ranging from Key Stage 3 down to primary levels.
  • Occasional lesson cover as part of our small, supportive 12-person team.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • You do not need to be a qualified teacher (QTS) to apply. We value lived experience and personality.
  • Have a strong "social element" and the ability to build deep rapport with anxious students.
  • Avoid an overly authoritative approach, acting more as a mentor or trusted adult while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Be comfortable working in a non-traditional, highly flexible setting.
