A Pupil Referral Unit based in Islington are looking for a Science Teacher to join them in September. This is a challenging yet highly rewarding role, working with young people who are unable to access mainstream education due to social, emotional or mental health needs, or behavioural challenges. The successful candidate will bring subject expertise to teaching students in Key Stage 3 & 4, having a compassionate, trauma informed approach to supporting vulnerable learners.
Key Responsibilities for Science Teacher

Plan and deliver Science lessons that are practical for learners with a range of needs

Develop students' confidence in Science through hands-on experience, project-based learning

Create a structured and calm classroom environment

Confident in managing behavioural

Monitor and report on individual student progress
Requirements for Science Teacher
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
-
Experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4
-
Prior experience in an alternative provision, PRU or SEMH setting - desirable btu not essential

Strong classroom and behaviour management
