Are you a Science Teacher ready for something more meaningful?
Do you want to teach in a specialist school where your lessons do more than tick boxes – they help rebuild confidence, trust, and joy in learning?
We’re working with a specialist SEND school in South West London that supports children and young people aged 5–19 with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), Autism (ASC), and ADHD. Every student has an EHCP, and most have experienced disrupted education. This setting is not mainstream; it’s a carefully structured, therapeutic environment designed to help young people re-engage with learning and thrive.
The Role – Science Teacher
We are looking for a full-time Science Teacher to join this exceptional school from September 2025.
You’ll be teaching Key Stages 3 and 4 Science, planning engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to students who may be learning well below age-related expectations. The role includes:
- Delivering accessible, creative lessons in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics (KS3 & KS4)
- Adapting content for students with SEMH, ASC and ADHD
- Working closely with teaching assistants and therapists to support students’ emotional and academic needs
- Contributing to pastoral care and wellbeing initiatives
- Taking part in ongoing CPD, whole-school activities, and behaviour support strategies
What We’re Looking For
- QTS or QTLS is essential
- Open to ECTs and experienced teachers
- Experience in specialist settings (SEMH, ASC, PRUs or APs) is highly desirable
- Strong behaviour management and classroom adaptability
- A genuine interest in inclusive, trauma-informed education
- Someone who is patient, consistent, and believes in second chances
What the School Offers
- Permanent, term-time only contract
- Small class sizes and excellent classroom support
- Strong Science department with space for practical learning
- Supportive and visionary leadership team
- Weekly CPD and long-term career progression
- A setting that values wellbeing, belonging, and real relationships
Who Should Apply?
This role is perfect for:
- Qualified Science Teachers wanting to make a real difference
- ECTs looking for a supported start in specialist education
- Teachers from mainstream who feel called to work in a more therapeutic, relationship-focused setting
- Educators with experience in PRUs, SEMH schools, or Alternative Provisions
