About the Setting
This PRU is a trauma-informed, relationship-focused environment supporting pupils who are unable to access mainstream education, including those on short-term or preventative placements and young people with complex SEMH needs and behavioural challenges.
Your Role
As the PRU’s Science Teacher, you will:
- Deliver dynamic, accessible Science lessons across the secondary curriculum
- Personalise learning to meet a wide range of academic, emotional, and behavioural needs
- Track progress and use creative strategies to engage learners who may have lost confidence in education
- Build strong, restorative relationships with students, parents, carers, and colleagues
- Contribute to a calm, nurturing environment where every child is given a fresh opportunity to succeed
Who We're Looking For
You will thrive here if you:
- Hold QTS and have solid knowledge of the Science National Curriculum
- Have experience supporting young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour
- Communicate clearly, calmly, and constructively, even under pressure
- Use empathy, boundaries, and consistency to build trust
- Are passionate about inclusive education and believe every learner deserves a second chance
